Ghana Scholarship Secretariat prioritizes brilliant students with special needs – Asafo Agyei
The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat has announced a new focus on providing opportunities for brilliant students with special needs.
According to the Registrar, Alexander Kwaku Asafo Agyei, while the Secretariat is open to all Ghanaians, they will prioritize the needs of students with special needs first.
Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s morning show Nyansapo, on Wednesday August 13, 2025,Mr. Asafo Agyei emphasized the importance of transparency in the selection process for scholarship programs.
He assured that the Secretariat will ensure a fair and transparent process when selecting students for scholarships.
The Registrar noted that brilliant but poor students will always get the first chance when there’s an opportunity for scholarship arrangements.
This move is aimed at promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities for students who may have been disadvantaged due to their circumstances.
Mr. Asafo Agyei’s comments have been welcomed by many who believe that students with special needs deserve more support and opportunities.
The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat’s new focus is expected to bring hope to many brilliant students with special needs who may have been struggling to access scholarships.
