Helicopter crash investigation: Local farmers in Adansi Brofeyedu, Sikaman face starvation due to denial of access to their farmlands

Local farmers in Adansi Brofeyedu, Adansi Asokwa District, Ashanti Region, are complaining of starvation after being denied access to their farmlands.
This comes after investigation team cordoned off the area to facilitate the investigation into the helicopter crash.
Officers from the Ghana Armed Forces and aviation experts have combed the Comb Dampia Forest in Adansi Brofeyedu and Sikaman for wreckage from the crashed helicopter.
The investigation has restricted farmers’ access to their farmlands until the search is completed.
The helicopter crash claimed the lives of two cabinet ministers and six others, including the crew, who were traveling from Accra to Obuasi.
President Mahama confirmed the recovery of the “Black Box,” a flight recorder containing cockpit audio recordings, in a televised address, which will aid in investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Farmers’ Livelihoods at Risk
The farmers have expressed concern that the prolonged restriction on their farmlands will lead to significant losses, affecting their livelihoods and food security.
They are calling for the authorities to find an alternative solution to facilitate the investigation while allowing them to access their farms.
Investigation Progress
The recovery of the “Black Box” was a crucial step in determining the cause of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, with experts analyzing the data and audio recordings to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
