KMA cleans up Krofrom market, contractors set to resume work

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has cleared the Krofrom Market of weeds in anticipation of the return of contractors to the site.

The contractors are expected to resume work soon to fulfill President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to complete the market facility.

A team of workers lead by the Kumasi Mayor Hon. Richard Ofori (Zuba) has rid the market off all weeds which took over the project

The market’s traders have been operating in the area for over 20 years and have appealed to the government to prioritize them when the market construction is fully completed.

According to the traders, they deserve to benefit from the completed project, rather than those who have since relocated from the market.

In an interview with OTEC FM reporter Elizabeth Gyamfuaa Fosu, the traders expressed their excitement about the commencement of construction activities at the site, including clearing and weeding.

They urged the contractors to see the project through to its completion, emphasizing that a fully functional market will boost economic activity, enhance productivity, and create job opportunities for residents.

The traders’ sentiments highlight the significance of the market’s completion to the local economy and community. With the KMA’s efforts to prepare the site and the contractors’ expected return, the market’s revival seems to be gaining momentum.
