Trial of KNUST student in girlfriend’s death adjourned to Sept 15

The case involving 21-year-old final-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Daniel Tuffuor, who stands accused of murdering his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani, has been adjourned to September 15, 2025.
Tuffuor was arrested on Thursday, February 27, 2025, after Joana’s lifeless body was discovered on campus earlier that morning. The University’s security service, upon being alerted to the incident, promptly reported it to the police.
Police investigations revealed that the deceased and the suspect were in a romantic relationship at the time of the incident.
CCTV footage reportedly captured a man, believed to be Tuffour, strangling her to death following an altercation.
Tuffuor was subsequently arraigned before the Prempeh District Court, where proceedings have since been ongoing.
Although Joana has been laid to rest and funeral rites performed, police investigations remain active, while the suspect continues to be held on remand in prison custody.
