Asantehene invites President Mahama to late Asantehemaa’s burial rites
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has sent a delegation to formally invite President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final burial rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The royal funeral is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The delegation, led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng, together with Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II and Otumfuo Akyeame, delivered the invitation during a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Presidency in Accra on Monday
President Mahama extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and Asanteman on the passing of the Asantehemaa, acknowledging the immense loss.
The President assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the funeral and pay his final respects to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
The Asantehene’s invitation underscores the significance of the occasion and the respect accorded to the late queenmother.
