Ashanti Regional GJA Chairman engages OTEC School students in quest for stronger partnership

The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr. Kofi Adu Domfe, has taken a significant step towards strengthening the association by engaging students of OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies.

This move is part of his effort to bring student journalists on board and revive the student wing of the GJA in the Ashanti Region.

Following his election as the regional GJA chair, Mr. Domfe pledged to make the association stronger by incorporating student journalists.

On Thursday, September 12, 2025, he called on the students, urging them to join the association for more opportunities.

“Upholding the ethics of the job is key to becoming a good journalist who will make an impact in society. That’s why GJA will train you from time to time,” he said.

Mr. Domfe emphasized the importance of understanding the ethics of journalism, saying, “As a journalist, your primary focus is to bring out stories that will create a positive impact on society, and you can only do so if you understand the work.”

He assured the students that the new GJA leadership will offer mentorship opportunities to help them excel in the field of journalism.

By engaging with student journalists, Mr. Domfe aims to build a stronger association with a bright future.

His initiative is expected to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the field of journalism.
