Ejisu-Bonwire: 29-Year-Old Man Arrested in Connection with Uncle’s Mysterious Death
A 29-year-old man, Richmond, has been taken into custody by the police in connection with the death of his 40-year-old uncle, Elvis Asante, at Bonwire in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, September 20, 2025, following the death of his uncle.
Assembly Member for Bonwire Electoral Area, Hon. Kwarteng Frimpong, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, said the 40-year-old was found hanging in his room.
He noted that residents quickly informed the police, who visited the scene to investigate the matter.
Upon investigation, police learned that a mobile phone belonging to the deceased was with the suspect, leading to his arrest.
Meanwhile, the suspect has denied having a hand in his uncle’s death, claiming he had picked the phone from the room where the incident happened, allegedly in the full glare of two other witnesses who saw the incident first before he even arrived there.
Police, however, are investigating the incident.
