Kumasi: 20-year-old man stabbed to death in fight over plastic chair

A tragic incident has occurred at Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region, where a 20-year-old boy, Kwadwo Bright, was stabbed to death during a fight over a plastic chair.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Baker, a friend of the deceased, is currently on the run.
Witness in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng said the sad incident occurred on Thursday September 4,2025.

According to the mother of the deceased, Georgina Yeboah, the altercation began at a snooker game center where her son and the suspect had a disagreement over a plastic chair.

Although the matter was reportedly settled, the suspect later attacked and stabbed Kwadwo in the neck, resulting in his death.
Mrs. Yeboah recounted that she heard people screaming about a young man being stabbed and rushed to the scene, only to find her son in a critical state.
They quickly took him to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
The police have taken over the case and are investigating the incident.
The suspect remains at large as authorities work to apprehend him.
