Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Announces Another Massive Clean-Up Exercise Ahead of Asantehemaa’s Funeral

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced another massive metrowide clean-up exercise scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 6 am to 12 noon. This exercise is part of the preparations for the funeral of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, which is set to take place on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The clean-up exercise aims to make Kumasi spotless and presentable for visitors mourning with Asanteman.
All trading activities and shops in the city will remain closed until 12 noon, and no vehicular movement will be allowed during the exercise.
The KMA encourages security agencies, volunteer groups, traders, commercial drivers, and the general public to comply with the directive in honor of the late Queenmother.
The late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, passed away on August 7, 2025. A previous clean-up exercise was held on September 7, 2025, as part of the preparations for the funeral rites .
