Manso Adwumamu Odikro appeals for urgent educational and health infrastructure

The Odikro of Manso Adwumamu in the Amansie West District, Nana Yaw Asubonteng, has made a passionate appeal to the government and relevant stakeholders to urgently support the community with additional classroom blocks, more trained teachers, and a health clinic.

According to him, these facilities are critical to improving the quality of life and education in the area.

Speaking to the media, Nana Yaw Asubonteng lamented the poor state of school infrastructure in the community, describing it as “discouraging and unacceptable” for both learners and educators.

He disclosed that the absence of basic amenities has led many teachers to seek transfers, thereby hampering academic performance.

He emphasized that without urgent intervention, the future of children in the community could be compromised, as overcrowded classrooms and a lack of essential resources hinder effective teaching and learning.
“We are being left behind, and our children are paying the price,” he said.
Backing the Odikro’s call, the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Mark Asamoah, and several local teachers also urged government and NGOs to prioritize the construction of an ultramodern classroom block to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
They stressed that equipping the community with proper educational and health infrastructure would not only boost academic outcomes but also attract and retain skilled teachers, ensuring long-term development for Manso Adwumamu.
