MP for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, visits WASSCE centres to encourage students

The Member of Parliament for the Bekwai constituency, lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei, paid a visit to several West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) centers today Thursday 4 September 2025 to offer words of encouragement to students and teachers. The visit took place during the crucial English language examination, a core subject for all candidates.
The MP’s tour included a number of prominent schools within his constituency:
Oppong Memorial Secondary School (OMESS)
SDA Secondary School (SDASS)
Awhiren Secondary School
Poano Senior High School
Ofoase Kokoben Senior High School
Wesley Senior High School
Honourable Poku – Adusei’s primary objective was to show solidarity with the students and boost their morale as they faced one of the most challenging papers. He took the time to speak with candidates, reminding them to stay focused and calm and to give their best effort. He also commended the teachers and school administrators for their dedication in preparing the students for the exams.
Accompanying the Honourable was a delegation of local education and political leaders, underscoring the collaborative effort I support education in the region. The team included:

The Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Alex Arko Darkwa
Their presence highlighted the unified commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful examination period for all students.
During the visit, the headmasters of the schools seized the opportunity to discuss various challenges facing their institution with the MP. These issues reportedly included infrastructure deficiencies and other needs critical to the school’s operation and student welfare.
In response, Honourable Poku- Adusei assured the school’s leadership that he would personally look into their problems and take the necessary steps to help find a solution. He reiterated his commitment to improving educational facilities and standards across the Bekwai constituency, recognizing that a conducive learning environment is essential for academic success.
The visit concluded with a strong message of support and a promise of continued collaboration between local leaders, education officials, and the community to foster a brighter future for the youth of Bekwai.
