Two missing after canoe capsizes on Offin River

Two people are feared missing after a canoe carrying six passengers capsized in the Offin River near New Achiase in the Atwima Mponua District on Thursday morning, local officials have confirmed.
Speaking to Citi News, Daniel Adu, a former unit committee chairman, said the incident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. when the paddler reportedly lost control of the canoe while transporting the passengers from New Achiase to their farms.
According to him, four of the passengers were rescued, but two remain unaccounted for.
“All six fell into the river. We managed to rescue four, but we are still searching for the other two, who are adult males,” he explained.
