A/R: Atwima chiefs pledge to campaign for NDC in 2028 polls if Mahatma fixes poor roads

Chiefs from the Atwima Traditional Council have pledged to lead a campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 polls if President John Dramani Mahama fixes the poor roads in their area.

The chiefs, from Atwima Takyiman, Denkyemuoso, and other adjoining areas in the Kwadaso Constituency, made this known during a massive protest against Asabea Constructions, the company handling the Ohwimase-Foase main road.
The chiefs and residents protested on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, to appeal to the government to replace Asabea Constructions.
Addressing the media, the Adontenhene for Atwima Traditional Council, Nana Atta Kwasi, said, “This road has been in a deplorable state for eight years now, with successive governments failing to work on it. We are appealing to President Mahama to help us resume work on the road.”
Nana Atta Kwasi emphasized that the chiefs and residents will support the NDC government if the road is fixed.
“We have a simple message to the president: please look at our roads, help fix them, and we will follow you anywhere you go.”
The chiefs have pledged to set aside protocol and declare their support for the NDC if their demands are met.
