The Asantehene His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has outline crucial factors that disqualify an individual from ascending to a chiefly stool in Asanteman.
According to the renowned monarch, these factors are essential in maintaining the dignity and integrity of the traditional institution.
During the Asanteman Council meeting on Thursday October 16,2025 , His Majesty highlighted six key factors that can bar someone from becoming a chief.
These include being a rapist, a prisoner or ex-convict, a thief, physically challenged, a drunkard, or not being a royal.
These factors, the monarch emphasized, are critical in ensuring that only individuals with impeccable character and lineage are considered for chiefly positions.
