Asantehene to Attend Suriname’s 50th Independence Anniversary
The President of Suriname, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, has extended an invitation to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to attend the country’s 50th National Independence Anniversary on November 25, 2025.
The Asantehene’s presence is expected to strengthen the longstanding friendship and shared relations between Asanteman and Suriname, as well as Ghana and Suriname.
According to the President, the Asantehene’s esteemed presence would enrich the event.
Meanwhile the Asanteman Council during a meeting on Thursday October 16, 2025 has given its approval for the King to attend the celebration, which will further enhance the Kingdom’s image.
The approval means the renowned monarch will join the anniversary to celebrate with Suriname.
