Dotsei Malor, Oppong-Peprah, Ibn Chambas join 18 newly appointed deputy heads of missions

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 18 persons as Deputy Heads of Mission across Ghana’s diplomatic missions worldwide, with former Chief of Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and former presidential spokesperson, Mr. Ben Dotsei Malor, among those receiving new diplomatic postings.
The appointments were contained in a letter dated September 11, 2025, and signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President and addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
General Oppong-Peprah, who previously served as Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, has been appointed Deputy Head of Mission to Canada.
Mr. Ben Dotsei Malor, a former presidential spokesperson during President Mahama’s previous administration, has been posted to Ghana’s embassy in Washington, D.C., as Deputy Head of Mission.
Other appointments include Dr. Palmer Appiah-Gyan to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Harry Zevon to the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Aquinas Quansah to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The list also includes Mrs. Francisca Patoah Gyarko, who will serve in the Swiss Federation, Mr. Sulemana Ibun Iddrissu in the Republic of India, and Mr. George Harrison in the Republic of Korea.
In the Middle East and Gulf region, Mrs. Jamilatu Amadu has been appointed to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Sanni Jajah to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In Europe, Mr. Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo will serve in The Netherlands, Mrs. Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku in the Italian Republic, Mr. Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor in the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Emmanuel Kamban Panyan in the Russian Federation, and Rev. Dr. Isaac Clive Mould in the Kingdom of Denmark.
The appointments also include Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah, who will serve in the Republic of South Africa, and Mr. Francis Thalamus Doe, who will take up his role in Japan.
The letter, addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, directed the ministry to initiate the necessary processes to facilitate the deployment of the appointed officials.
