GJA delegation meets Manhyia Palace protocol team ahead of 29th GJA awards

A high-profile delegation from the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has met the Protocol team at the Manhyia Palace to discuss arrangements for the 29th GJA Awards.

The delegation, led by GJA President Albert Dwomfuo and Ashanti Regional Chairman Kofi Adu Domfe, inspected the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall venue for the event, scheduled for November 8, 2025.

This marks the first time in 29 years that the Ashanti Region will host the GJA Awards.

After the meeting, Albert Dwomfuo commended the Chief of Staff and the Protocol Team at the Manhyia Palace for the warm reception.

“At this stage, we have no doubt the awards will be a successful one. For Manhyia Palace to host us means we are heading towards a very good awards ceremony,” he said.

The GJA President expressed gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his support for journalists in Ghana.

“We were told how the King is looking forward to this award, and it’s no surprise because the King has always had a place for journalists,” he added.

Albert Dwomfuo also thanked the Ashanti Regional Chapter of GJA for their immense contribution to the organization of the awards.

“Our branch chairman, Kofi Adu Domfe, and his team have been very active in these arrangements, making our work easy,” he said.

“GJA is very happy to have such proactive leaders, and we believe with their support, the awards and GJA as a whole will be great.”

The GJA President called on all members to support the event, ensuring its success.

With the Manhyia Palace hosting the awards, there’s anticipation that the event will be a grand affair, recognizing the outstanding work of journalists in Ghana.
