Obuasi:Six People including a Toddler injured after gun shot
Six people, including a toddler, have sustained gunshot wounds after a man who’s in jubilant mood fire a gun at Kwabenakwa in the the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Wednesday October 15, 2025 after a member of a family involved in a chieftaincy dispute allegedly fired a gunshot in celebration following a court ruling in favour of his faction.
The Assembly Member for the area Hon Charles Abu in an interview with OTEC News said the suspect has been identified as Kofi Cole, adding he’s currently at large
“I learned he mobilised some relatives and boarded a tricycle to jubilate after hearing the verdict, during which celebratory gunfire was discharged” .
He added that Four of the injured victims were treated and discharged, while a mother and her baby were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
