The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak Mohamed, has revealed that five out of 12 suspects identified in connection with the killing of two people during the 2024 polls in Akomadan, Ashanti Region, have been arrested.

According to the Minister, the police are currently investigating to apprehend the remaining suspects who are still on the run.

The violence occurred during a post-election clash over fertilizers linked to the elections, resulting in two deaths and two injuries.

The Minister stated during a press briefing in Accra on November 3, 2025, that the five arrested suspects are currently in prison custody after failing to meet their bail conditions.

“The Taskforce realizes that the incident led to the loss of two persons and injured two others. The observation of the taskforce is that the late Jacob Narlor and Solomon Gabriel lost their lives, though they were not part of the violent clash,” the Minister explained.

“Five of the arrested are before the Kumasi High Court Four and are currently in prison custody for failing to meet their bail conditions,” he added.

The Minister emphasized that the government will pursue the case to ensure justice is served.
