A/R: Over 1,000 police personnel deployed to ensure safety during Christmas and New Year celebrations
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur has disclosed over 1000 police personnel will be deployed a cross the region to ensure safety during Christmas festivities.
This comes after the Ghana Police Service outlined safety measures for residents ahead of the Christmas and 31st watch night celebrations.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday , Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, advised citizens to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
“As we approach the festive season, we urge Ghanaians to avoid walking in dark areas, especially at night,” DCOP Arthur said.
He also advised people to minimize night outings if possible and avoid walking alone in danger zones.
“To ensure a safe and secure celebration, over 1,000 police personnel, both uniformed and plainclothes, have been deployed to control traffic and maintain security across the region” .
“We are committed to providing a safe environment for everyone to enjoy the festivities,” he said.
The police commander also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the authorities and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to prevent crime.
The measures he maintained are aimed at preventing incidents and ensuring a peaceful celebration for all.
