A/R: Police arrest street robbery gang, recover 70 phones including 59 iPhones

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects for their notorious street robbing activities, retrieving over 70 mobile phones including 59 iPhones from their hideouts.

 According to police, these suspected serial robbers have been terrorizing residents at Asokore Mampong, KNUST, Kenya Se, Bosore, Duase, Antoa, and surrounding areas.

The suspects, Abdul Sadam (UN), 22, Philip Nyarko (Kawaawa), 24, and Samad Haji (Toronto), 21, were identified by police.

 Addressing the media during a press briefing on Monday, Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur said all the suspects have confessed to the offenses in their caution statements.

“They are currently in custody assisting investigations having confessed their crimes,” he said.

The Police Commander called on

the public who may have fallen victim to these suspects to come forward to assist investigations.

He noted that all suspects will be put before court in due course to face the law.

 He assured the public of police continued protection, calling on all to be law-abiding citizens to avoid arrest.
