Mahama, NDC donate GH¢50k to support late Daddy Lumba’s family

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Party Leader President John Dramani Mahama, has donated GH¢50,000 to support the family of the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, as funeral arrangements begin.

The donation was presented on behalf of the party through the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, in the company of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Nana Kwasi, and was officially handed over to Daddy Lumba’s family.
The gesture, according to party officials, is in recognition of Daddy Lumba’s immense contribution to Ghana’s music industry and national culture, as well as a show of solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
President John Dramani Mahama has also indicated his intention to attend the funeral later in the afternoon to pay his last respects and offer tributes to the iconic musician whose music has influenced generations.
Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated Highlife artistes, left an indelible mark on the nation’s creative arts scene, and tributes continue to pour in from across the country and beyond.
