Thousands queue to pay final respects as Daddy Lumba Lies in State at Heroes Park
Thousands of mourners have gathered in long, solemn queues to pay their final respects to the late music icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, as today marks his lying in state at the Heroes Park in Kumasi.
From the early hours of the morning, fans from across the country converged at the venue to honour the legendary musician.
The atmosphere at Heroes Park is charged with deep emotion as family members, fellow musicians, industry players and admirers file past to observe Daddy Lumba for the last time.
His timeless songs play softly in the background, while sorrows continue to flow, highlighting his immense contribution to Ghana’s music industry.
Many mourners describe Daddy Lumba as a cultural symbol whose music captured love, hardship, hope and social realities.
According to them, for Over the decades, his work influenced generations of artistes and helped shape the sound and identity of contemporary Ghanaian music.
Others also said that Though he has departed, his music and enduring impact will live on, ensuring that the name Daddy Lumba remains forever celebrated.
