A/R: Amokrom residents cry out for help as classroom blocks become death trap

Residents of Amokrom in the Ahafo Ano South East district of the Ashanti region are sounding the alarm over the deplorable condition of their only Junior High School (JHS) classroom block, which they describe as a death trap for teachers and students.

The classroom blocks and teachers’ bungalow are in a state of disrepair, posing a significant threat to the lives of students in the community.

According to the residents, several appeals have been made to the former MP, Hon. Francis Manu Adabor, regarding the state of the classroom blocks, but to no avail.

The situation has become so dire that teachers posted to the community have left, leaving only four of them, and are facing accommodation challenges.

The residents are calling on authorities to come to their aid and provide the necessary infrastructure to improve teaching and learning in the area.

In response, the current MP for Ahafo Ano South East Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Yakubu, assured the community of improved classroom blocks this year, stating that the government is committed to delivering on its promises.

He urged residents to exercise patience as he works to address their poor road networks and other necessities.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka, also called on residents to support the government and contribute to development through tax payments
