Ghana has benefitted from your leadership – BoG Governor to Asantehene

Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Johnson Asiama, has paid glowing tribute to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, describing his leadership as a source of stability and wisdom for Ghana’s national development.

Dr Asiama made the remarks when the Asantehene paid a courtesy call on him at the Bank Square in Accra on Wednesday, March 7. The visit, though ceremonial, was seen as reinforcing dialogue between traditional leadership and the country’s economic managers at a time when Ghana is making progress toward economic stability.

Addressing the Asantehene, the BoG Governor said Ghana has long benefitted from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s brand of leadership, which he described as quiet, steady, and deeply anchored in wisdom.

He noted that in moments of national tension, the Asantehene has consistently demonstrated that true authority is exercised not through noise or spectacle, but through balance, restraint, and moral clarity.

According to Dr Asiama, this instinct for stability has made the Asantehene’s voice relevant beyond matters of chieftaincy and social cohesion, extending into broader national conversations on development, discipline and progress.

“Otumfuo Ghana has long benefitted from your brand of leadership, your quiet steady and deeply anchored in wisdom. In moment of national tension you have reminded us that authority is not exercised through noise or fuss but through balance, restraint and moral clarity.

“That instinct for stability has made your voice relevant. Not only matters of chieftaincy and social cohesion but also in the broader national conversation about development discipline and progress.”
