Kumasi: Dead body of a young man recovered in a drain at Aboabo
The body of an unidentified young man, who is said to be in his 20s, was found dead in a drain at Aboabo in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region
The lifeless body that was recovered on Friday, January 30 2025, during OTEC News visit, was stripped naked
Sumaila Dauda, the Unit Committee Member for the Aboabo Extension Electoral Area, told OTEC NEWS that he believes the man was lynched before being thrown down the drain
Hon Sumaila revealed that similar incidents have occurred in the area in the past and called on authorities to take steps to prevent future occurrences.
“Someone informed me about the situation, so I rushed to the scene. Looking at the body, it appears the person was beaten to death. The police have since taken the body to the morgue. We want authorities to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” he said.
Police have since conveyed the body to the morgue and launched an investigation into the incident.
