Man, 50s, brutally killed over land dispute in Bekwai

A man in his fifties has been brutally killed by unknown assailants over a land dispute at Kensere in the Bekwai Municipality.

The victim, identified as Yaw Acheampong, was reportedly ambushed and butchered while farming on the disputed land on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Eyewitnesses told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng that Acheampong had gone to the land to farm when the attack occurred.

Residents expressed shock and outrage over the incident, which has been reported to the police for investigation.

The deceased has been sent to the Bekwai Government Hospital morgue pending further investigation.

The case is now with the police, who are working to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
