Man arrested for allegedly burying wife in bedroom at Twifo Nuamakrom

A 44-year-old man has been arrested at Twifo Nuamakrom in the Central Region for allegedly burying his 80-year-old wife in their bedroom and keeping the body there for more than two weeks.

The suspect, identified as Kweku Charles, is said to have secretly buried his wife, Esther Bolu, inside their home under circumstances that have shocked residents of the community.
The disturbing act reportedly came to light after neighbours and church members raised concerns over the prolonged absence of the deceased, who was the founder and leader of a local church. Residents became suspicious when she had not been seen for over two weeks, while her husband had allegedly assumed leadership and was conducting church activities in her stead.
Following mounting concerns, community members alerted the authorities, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the discovery of the buried body in the couple’s bedroom.
Police have since taken custody of the suspect and commenced investigations to establish the motive behind the act and the exact cause of death. The body of the deceased has been exhumed and deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The incident has left residents of Twifo Nuamakrom in shock, with many calling for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
