The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation and its partners have donated 15,000 books to schools in the Obuasi and Adanse enclave.

The beneficiary schools were drawn from the Obuase East and Obuasi Municipalities, as well as schools in Adanse and other host communities.
Anglogold Ashanti provided 12,500 textbooks, while Adwinsa Publications donated 2,500 storybooks.
The books were presented to the schools by the leadership of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation on Thursday, January 22, 2026, to mark the International Day of Education.

“Otumfuo has been very particular about the development of children in the country. In light of this, he has directed the foundation to provide support in education to help them,” he said.
He emphasized the need for the country to prioritize the needs of the youth and ensure optimum education for a better future.
He also called on the youth to learn more about their culture to fit well in society.
The Acting Community Relations Manager for Anglogold Obuasi Mines, Daniel Arthur Bentum, said their support is part of their ten-year development plan aimed at developing and helping schools in their catchment area.
He praised the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation for its continued support to vulnerable schools in rural areas and pledged the firm’s commitment to supporting the foundation’s efforts to provide quality education for students in Ghana.
The CEO of Adwinsa Publications, Mr. Kwaku Oppong Peprah, encouraged the youth to develop the habit of reading, noting that the company has resolved to always team up with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to supply free reading books to students.
