Adum Blue Light Market fire victims accuse leaders of mismanaging GH¢1.7 million donations

Victims of the Adum Blue Light Market fire disaster are marking one year since the incident and accusing their leadership of mismanaging over GHC 17 million in donations.

The affected traders claim that some of the donations received have been used by their leaders without any tangible evidence to show.

The traders revealed in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng that they have sighted a document which claims over 17 billion old cedis have been used to fix drains at the market.

“We are very much aware that some of the donations went to the Regional Minister, KMA and the leadership of the traders, however, the moneys that went to the traders cannot be traced now,” they said.

The traders expressed disappointment in the leadership for what they termed as poor handling of issues regarding the fire incident.

They are now calling on authorities in the region to render proper accounts to the traders, stating that they will not rest until the moneys are accounted for.
