Kumasi men threaten action against women using ‘Kayamata’ charm in relationships

Some men at the busy Adum Blue Light area in Kumasi have cautioned women against allegedly using charms, popularly known as “Kayamata” or “juju,” to control them or gain access to their properties.

The men said they would not tolerate any attempt by their partners to manipulate them through spiritual means, describing such acts as deceitful and a betrayal of trust in relationships.

According to them, any woman found using such charms to bend them to her will would face serious consequences.

“We will not accept any woman using charms to control us or take advantage of our properties. If we find out, we will deal with the situation accordingly,” one of the men warned.

They emphasized that relationships should be built on honesty and mutual trust rather than spiritual manipulation.

“Love should be based on trust and sincerity. Using ‘juju’ to control a man is unacceptable and destroys the foundation of a genuine relationship,” another man stated.

Speaking to OTEC News reporter Solomon Nimo on March 11, 2026, some of the men expressed strong reactions to the growing discussion about “Kayamata” charms.

While a few indicated they would confront their partners and immediately end the relationship if such actions were discovered, others said they would simply walk away and move on with their lives.

“If I discover that my partner is using charms on me, I will just end the relationship and move on. A relationship without trust cannot survive,” another resident added.

The men therefore urged women to avoid such practices and instead promote honesty and transparency in their relationships.
