“This nonsense must stop”-Minority condemns forceful closure of NHIA office in Ejisu

The Minority in Parliament has strongly condemned the forceful closure of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office in Ejisu, describing the act as “nonsense”.

The protest, carried out by aggrieved NDC supporters, was sparked by alleged neglect of party loyalists in government appointments.

Addressing the media,on Monday, Ranking Member on Parliament’s Health Committee, Hon Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, called for an immediate stop to such attacks on public offices.

He noted that incidents of violence and disruptions have been rampant under the NDC, and Ghanaians must not tolerate it.

“The youth are protesting what they describe as the neglect of party loyalists in government appointments,” Dr. Afriyie said, acknowledging the frustration among party supporters. However, he emphasized that such actions only hinder development and must be condemned.

The Minority has vowed to remain vigilant, calling out the government on any actions that impede the country’s development.

The protest has temporarily disrupted NHIA operations, with the Minority urging supporters to seek redress through peaceful means.
