Freda Prempeh Foundation commends Minister of Lands and Natural Resources for championing the protection of forests, water bodies

The Freda Prempeh Foundation (FPF) has commended the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Samuel Abu Jinapor, for his relentless efforts in championing the protection of forests, water bodies and biodiversity in Ghana.

The Freda Prempeh Foundation said, these have played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the importance of safeguarding the country’s natural resources.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the President and leader of the PFP, Hon. Dr Freda Prempeh, ahead of the 2024 Green Ghana Day, slated for June 7.

The day, instituted in 2021 by President Nana Akufo Addo, is observed by planting trees, and is aimed at restoring Ghana’s forest cover, and combating the adverse effects of climate change.

FPF, an organization that advocates environmental sustainability, said that through fostering collaboration and cooperation among diverse stakeholders, the Green Ghana Initiative has emerged as bacon of effective environmental governance.

Giving this, the foundation has commended sector minister Samuel Abu Jinapor for his outstanding dedication and leadership in propelling the Green Ghana Initiative forward.

“The initiative, a ground-breaking endeavor aimed at addressing deforestation and promoting environmental conservation across the nation, has made remarkable progress under the visionary guidance of Samuel Abu Jinapor,” the statement said.

The statement also said that through impact tree planting campaigns and policy initiatives, the Minister has effectively mobilized citizens to take proactive steps towards pressing Ghana’s rich natural heritage.

Dr Freda Prempeh, who is also the MP for Tano North, added that “we are immensely grateful to the minister for his unwavering commitment to the Green Ghana Initiative

“His leadership has not only inspired a collective sense of responsibility towards.” environmental stewardship but has also laid the groundwork for a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come,” it stated.

Freda Prempeh Foundation statement concluded by reaffirming its unwavering support for the Green Ghana Initiative and pledges to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to further its objectives.
