A/R: Mahama’s Free Tertiary Education Policy will better Our Living Conditions-PWDs

Some members of the Physically Challenged Association at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region have commended President John Dramani Mahama for his free tertiary education policy for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

This policy, they believe, will significantly improve the living conditions of their members.

The praise comes after President Mahama reiterated his commitment to providing free tertiary education for PWDs during his first State of the Nation Address (#SONA2025) before Parliament on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

He announced the introduction of the No-Fee Stress policy, which will remove tertiary admission fees for all students, while PWDs will receive full tuition-free education throughout their studies.

President Mahama described the financial burden that prevents many qualified students from accessing tertiary education as unacceptable.

His policy aims to bridge this gap and provide equal opportunities for all.

Speaking in an interview with OTEC News, some members of PWDs welcomed the decision, stating that they are patiently waiting for the policy to be rolled out in its full fledge.

This move is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of PWDs in Ghana, enabling them to access quality education and improve their socio-economic status.
