Send your prophecies to the presidency – Subin MP urges clergy

Hon. Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah, Member of Parliament for Subin

The Member of Parliament for Subin in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah, has called on the clergy to channel their prophecies through the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations to ensure proper coordination and communication.

According to the MP, who is also well-versed in the Scriptures, this official channel will give those who receive divine revelations a direct and credible avenue to relay their messages to the appropriate authorities, rather than releasing such sensitive information into the public domain, particularly on social media.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi on the establishment of the Presidential Envoy’s office, Lawyer Obiri Yeboah cautioned against politicising the initiative.

He emphasised that the office should be a platform for discreet and responsible communication, helping prevent unnecessary public alarm.

“As Members of Parliament, even we sometimes find it difficult to reach certain Ministers of State. So, it is understandable if ordinary individuals are unable to get their attention. This office will give people with important revelations a proper place to submit them, instead of making them public,” he explained.

The Subin MP also appealed for an end to public attacks and name-calling directed at prophets, particularly those who have shared messages related to the recent military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, which claimed the lives of eight prominent personalities.

While acknowledging the existence of “false prophets” in society, he stressed that there are equally genuine men of God who serve with diligence and integrity, and they should not be discouraged from delivering their divine messages.

The helicopter tragedy claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed; former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye; NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

A state funeral for the victims is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Black Star Square in Accra.
