VEEP, Ga Mantse visit Rawlings family to offer condolences

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, have visited the family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to commiserate with them following her passing.
The Vice President was accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister for Roads and Highways Governs Agbodza, and Presidential Envoy on Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, among other government officials.
During the visit, Professor Opoku-Agyemang signed the book of condolence and expressed the government’s sympathy to the Rawlings family.
The Ga Mantse, who also paid his respects, praised the late former First Lady for her dedication to public service and her efforts to uplift women and families across the country.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra. She was Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady and played an instrumental role in championing social change and gender equality during her husband, the late former President Jerry John Rawlings’s tenure.
Her death has drawn widespread tributes from political leaders, civil society, and ordinary citizens who have described her as a strong and visionary figure in Ghana’s history.
