
The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Ghana Police Service for conducting a peaceful election process in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.
Speaking to OTEC news after casting his vote, Hon. Akoto praised officials from both the EC and the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism, which he said had contributed to the smooth conduct of the elections.
“I want to commend the Electoral Commission and the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism. They have conducted themselves in a manner that is befitting, and I think it’s a good sign for our democracy,” he said.
The MP also expressed gratitude to delegates who turned out in their numbers to exercise their franchise.
“I want to thank the delegates for coming out in their numbers to exercise their democratic right. It’s a clear indication that they are interested in shaping the future of our party,” he added.
Hon. Akoto called for calm and urged all stakeholders to strictly follow the rules of the polls.
“I want to appeal to all stakeholders, including the candidates and their supporters, to remain calm and peaceful.Let’s allow the process to unfold, and I’m sure the will of the voters will be upheld after the counting is done,” he said.
The Atwima Mponua MP emphasized that the delegates have the power to decide who leads the party in the 2028 polls.
“It’s the delegates who will decide who will lead the party, and I’m confident that they will make the right choice,” he added.
