A/R: Assemblyman for Nkwantakese Electoral area killed in cold blood by unknown assailants
The Assemblyman for the Nkwantakese Electoral Area in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, Hon. Joseph Bonsu, has been killed by unknown assailants.
According to a source who spoke to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, the Assemblyman was allegedly killed in the early hours of Monday, September 21, 2026.
The source disclosed that Hon. Bonsu received a phone call at about 3:30 a.m. on Monday to meet someone who claimed to have important information for him.
After waiting for some time without his return, his wife is said to have proceeded to the meeting point, only to find him lying in a pool of blood.
He was immediately rushed to the Maase Hospital at Offinso for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival by medical doctors.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue pending an autopsy, while police have commenced investigations into the incident.
