Disabled Persons to demonstrate over delays in Common Fund
The Association of Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) in the country have threatened to hit the streets to demand the release of their 3% share of the District Assemblies Common Fund.
In a Press release sighted by Otecfmghana.com, by the Ashanti Regional of Ghana federation of Disability organization (GFD) signed by their President Alfred Tabi Amponsah appealed to the Minster of Local Government and all stakeholders and who matters about the allocation and distribution of 3% part of the Metropolitan, Municipal District Assembly Common Fund (MMDACF).
According to the release, the 3 percent (3%) which is supposed to be allocated to the federation of Disability has been in areas from last quota of 2016 and three quotas of 2017 as the delay has affected their activities and various significant roles been played in the empowerment of persons with Disability in the country.

Persons with Disability in Ghana forms 10percent of the entire population. . .
We are not complaining of the funds not being enough but the delay of the insufficient funds. ..
This has affected our activities and various significant roles been played in the empowerment of persons with Disability in Ghana .
Therefore we call on the local government and all stake holders involved in allocation of our funds to please consider our submission and act accordingly in responds to the provision of all the necessary funds which are entitled to us…
We may not be able to calm the nerves of our members much longer..because We have been patient. …enough!
Perhaps a “demonstration” may be the Wake up call to the local government in performance of its duties….
