CONVID-19: Bro Sack granted bail, to re-appear on March 26
The Asokwa District Court 2 on Monday has granted bail to the Head Pastor of Open Arms Ministry in Kumasi, Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, who was arrested for organizing church service in defiance to Nana Addo’s directives on coronavirus.
He was charged alongside his son, Kofi Nkansah Sarkodie Snr., the administrator of the church, for unlawful assembly and breach of peace and granted bail in the sum of GHC10, 000, each with two surerities.
Bro Sack and his accomplice were represented in court by John Brefo, Esq.
The judge, Her Worship Rosemare Afia Asante, adjourned the case to March 26 this year.
Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as Brother Sack or Saint Sack, was arrested by the Buffalo Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday morning for organizing church service, in defiance of the president’s directives of suspending all public gatherings.
He was granted bail on the same day, with the caution of not organizing church service again.
But, however, on Sunday, March 22, four days after his caution, he was arrested again by the police for the same offence, alongside the church administrator.
Otec News’ reporters, Akwasi Acheampong and Isaac Nsiah Foster, who were at the court said Saint Sack appeared at the court guided by police personnel, wearing his usual all white attire and looked calm while standing in dock.
