Man poisons himself after killing wife

A 50-year-old man has poisoned himself after allegedly killing his wife, Abena Nkrumah at Assin Kwansakrom in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

The man, Kwaku Atta is said to have killed the wife following her decision to divorce him.

Narrating the incident to OTECNEWS, Police Commander of Assin Damang, ASP Okyere Andam said the wife, Abena, 38, left her marital home to stay with her aunt, due to maltreatment meted out to her by the husband.

Prior to the incident, ASP Okyere Andam indicated that, the couple have been arguing frequently.

But shortly after family members settled the issue, Kwaku Atta who was peeved by his wife’s decision to divorce him lured her to the farm where he butchered her to death.

After the act Kwaku Atta drank some substance believed to be poison and also died.
