Akufo-Addo commissions Techiman Police Headquarters

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed that the Bono-Ahafo Region received the bulk of the inputs supplied to farmers in the first year of the Planting-For-Food and Jobs Programme.
This makes up to about 15% of the inputs received so far.
The President consequently urged the people of the region to brace up to do more in the second year of the programme which will see the 200, 000 beneficiary farmers increased to 500,000.
President Akufo-Addo was speaking at a durbar organised in his honour at Busunya in the Nkoranza North District as part of his three-day tour of Bono-Ahafo.
The President started his visit to Bono-Ahafo in the Nkoranza North District where he met with Chiefs and people of the Bono East area, who are currently working towards the creation of a new Region out of Bono-Ahafo.
Welcoming the President on behalf of the Bono East Chiefs, the Omanhene of Techiman, Oseadeeyor Akumfi Ameyaw, thanked the Government and the Commission of Enquiry on the Creation of New Regions for the good work being done towards the creation of new regions.
He said they are expecting a favourable report from the Commission since the area which stretches from Techiman to Pru and Sene has the required resources to be a viable region.
Addressing the Chiefs, President Akufo-Addo thanked them for helping him get elected as President. He promised to work to fulfil all his promises.
He also touched on the DKM scandal, which affected many people in the Nkoranza area, saying government has not spared any effort in resolving the issue and expressed the hope that lessons have been learnt from the scandal.
Earlier, the Bono-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asoma Cheremeh, also touched on the DKM issue saying the Liquidator has managed to return about 90% of depositor’s money.
He said work is being done to ensure that all properties of DKM hidden are found to help pay more monies back to aggrieved depositors.
The President was also at Busunya where a durbar was held in his honour.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo is continuing his tour of the Bono Ahafo Region today.
Reports indicate that the President has already been to Goaso where he met with the Ahafo Chiefs.
He is currently at Kukuom which is the capital of Asunafo South District where he will be commissioning an office block for the district.
