I will miss parliament – Hon. Ben Abdella Bandah declares

The Chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee for Legal and Constitutional Affairs Hon. Ben Abdella Banda has confessed that he would still miss the fond memories of the august House when the eighth Parliament of the fourth Republic resumes in January 2021.
Speaking to the host of OTECFM’S NYANSAPO morning show Captain Koda on Thursday August 6, 2020, the Offinso South Legislature disclosed that he would passionately miss friends and loved ones in Parliament after twelve years stint adding that his strong affection for law making would equally be missed by fellow members and Ghanaians in general as well.
Hon. Ben Abdella Banda who has been a Member of Parliament since this Republic’s fifth Parliament saw his fourth time attempt thwarted during last June 20th primaries where he was massively defeated by Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku.
But speaking on his defeat, Hon. Ben Abdella Banda inspired, “I would miss Parliament because I have friends and an unalloyed passion for making laws as a Lawyer that is why I have been present and vocal during especially during enacting laws. But I have to give way for someone to come to the scene so that they would see the difference. I am grateful to the people of Offinso South for giving me the opportunity to serve them. In fact I am the first legislature to serve them for three consecutive terms.”
Asked if he has any interest to stage a comeback in future, the Chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee for Legal and Constitutional Affairs indicated that he has no such immediate plans since his main focus is to ensure Nana Akuffo-Addo wins a second term mandate during the December general elections.
Hon. Ben Abdella Banda who was making his observation on the proposed salary disparity amongst the Legislatures based on their experience noted that he does not support the idea. The out-going MP rather suggested for such experienced Officers to be given special allowances instead of salaries.
