Assemblies of God Church Prays Against Terrorists Attack On Ghana ,  Sub-region

Reverend Dr Stephen Yenusom Wengam, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church.

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Stephen  Yenusom Wengam has led prayers for the country against any planned attack by terrorists operating in the West African Sub-region.

Reverend Wengam also asked God to repel any evil plot against the African Continent to destabilise it and render its people miserable.

The General Superintendent who led the prayer during the official induction ceremony for newly elected executives for the Ashanti East Region of the church on Saturday, also called for prayers from all Christian faithfuls across the country.

“We ask God to repel and negate every activity of insurrection and upheavals from the evil kingdom on the African continent and we ask God to help our people in these difficult periods so that we can see his glory once again in our lives and in Africa “, the General Superintendent prayed.

Sermon:

Preaching the sermon earlier on leadership from the Second Book of Kings 18:3-16, Rev Dr Wengam said just like King Hezekiah in the Bible all leaders must dare to be different from others who messed up before them.

He noted that Hezekiah, an Israeli King decided to put aside everything his predecessors did that incurred the wrath of God and determined to go by God principles all his days. 

The General Superintendent however said the decision to shun evil did not stop the devil from testing to know his leadership acumen, adding that Hezekiah at some point became proud and selfish.

“I urge our new leaders who are being inducted today and all others in the country to shun evil acts such as corruption, tribalism, nepotism, backbiting and the rest so we can cone again berth some hope for the Ghanaian people”, the AG leader stressed.

Majority Leader:

Speaking after being honored for his selfless attitude to the Church and Ghana,  Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu,  Majority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Suame asked for special prayers for the Sub-region and the African continent. 

He noted that terrorists had take over the continent and operating to destablise it.

The Majority said intelligence reports indicate that the next on the radar of the terrorists is Ivory Coast, adding that when such happens Ghana won’t be spared.

“I do not say this to scare you but to tell you about the plot of the evil one through terrorists who are bent on getting to Ivory Coast to start an insurrection and this is morning i had a call to be present at a meeting called at the instance of President and the Military High Command for us to discuss measures to fend off any plot against Ghana and the Sub-region”, the Majority stated 

Regional Superintendent For Ashanti East:

Speaking to the media after the induction ceremony,  Reverend Dr Emmanuel Kwadwo Gyasi, Ashanti East Regional Superintendent of AG said together with the secretary, Rev Alex Adu Gyamfi and the  RegionalTreasurer,  Reverend Eric Adjei Amankwa they would lead the church to undertake soul winning for Christ.

He noted that the task of trippling their numbers in Ashanti East would not be easy but by prayer and commitment ti duty the church can realise its aspirations. 

Rev Dr Gyasi called on the church to show support to the new executives so that they can carry out their duties effectively and efficiently. 

” I on behalf the newly elected executives thank our General Superintendent for blessing us and to every one who played a role in our success in last year’s election that has culminated in our induction ceremony today we say that we are grateful and wish that with same prayers are offered for us to build a solid ministry for God Almighty”, the Ashanti East Regional Superintendent said.
