President Akufo Addo to deliver his penultimate SONA on February 27 – Majority Leader  

President Nana Akufo Addo will present his penultimate State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

This is in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which states that the President shall deliver a message on the State of the Nation to Parliament at the start of each session and before the dissolution of Parliament.

The address will be President Nana Akufo penultimate address to the Parliament as his terms office ends in 2024.

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu announced the date during his open submission in the floor of the House on Tuesday, January 6, 2024.

“Mr Speaker, among other key businesses during the this meeting, Parliament will come His Excellency the President Nana Akufo Addo to the House to deliver the message on the State of the Nation in fulfillment with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution,” he said.

“Mr Speaker, subject to the discussions that we have had, we propose to receive the President on the 27th of February for him to come and deliver the message of the state of the nation,” Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who is also the MP for Suame added.
