One of the fast rising Herbal firms in Ghana, Ebenage Production and Consult, the producers of HEPA PLUS has organized four month intensive training for its staff and twenty other students offering herbal medicine at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology KNUST.
The capacity building sought to equip participants to develop a practical knowledge and the technical know-how to improve the quality and efficacy of herbal medicines in the country.
Speaking at the opening session of the training workshop on Thursday May 23, 2024, the founder of Ebenage Herbal Production and Consult, Mr Ebenezer Agyeman expressed confidence that the knowledge and experiences that will be during the workshop would strengthen their collective efforts towards producing more quality herbal products for Ghanaians.
He revealed that, renowned and experienced resource persons in the herbal medicine industry including the Executive Director at the Center for Plant Medicine Research at Mampong Akuapem, Professor Alex, Professor Isaac Kingsley Amponsah, Head of Herbal Medicine Department at the KNUST, resource persons from the Ghana Health Service GHS, Ghana Skills Development Fund, Ministry of Education among others.
He added that, the company will continue capacity building for its staff and other herbal practitioners in the system to help reduce the soaring number of quark herbal doctors in the system.
For his part, the Executive Director at the Center for Plant Medicine Research, Professor Alex Asaase said the workshop will improve the capacity of the participants that will be beneficial to them.
He however called on the public to embrace herbal medicine adding that, it was one of the best ways to treat illnesses.
He noted that, professionals in the herbal industry are doing their best to ensure quality and efficacy of herbal medicine adding that, such training workshops were important to realize such goals.
He commended Ebenage Herbal Production and Consult for the move and thanked all stakeholders supporting the move.
