GES warns against payment for Computerized School Selection, says process is free
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disclosed that the ongoing computerized school selection placement system is free, cautioning students and parents against paying money to anyone.
This follows reports of some teachers charging students 30 cedis for the process.
According to Henry Osei Boateng, Ashanti Regional PRO for GES, all costs have been covered by the government.
He emphasized that students will select 11 schools and indicate their preferred courses.
Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, Mr. Osei Boateng urged parents and students to be vigilant and follow the process carefully.
He assured them that the GES is committed to a smooth and transparent placement process.
The GES has reiterated that no one should pay money for the computerized school selection placement system, warning that anyone who does so will be doing it at their own risk.
Parents and students are advised to report any instances of extortion to the authorities.
