A/R: Widespread panic at Achiase as chiefs perform rituals to appease gods over mysterious bee attacks
The chiefs and elders of Asuofuo-Achiase in the Atwima-Nwabiagwanor District of the Ashanti Region have performed a ritual to appease the gods of the land following a bizarre incident of bees terrorizing residents.
Dozens the residents who were attacked have been hospitalized.
According to OTEC News Reporter, Maame Akua Asarebea, a student journalist at OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies, who visited the community, residents were attacked by the bees for over three days.
The situation forced residents indoors, making their daily lives extremely difficult.
Nana Antwi Adjei III, the Chief of Achiase, revealed during the rituals on Tuesday March 25, 2025, that they suspect the mishap was orchestrated by a sin against the gods of the land.
This came after a resident burnt an ancient Sycamore tree (Achee) believed to be protecting the community.
The tree’s destruction has sparked widespread fear among residents.
Nana Antwi Adjei III assured that community leaders will continue to perform the necessary rituals to reverse any potential mishaps and ensure peace in the community.
