Kumasi Traditional Council Pledges Support for Adum Fire Victims

An entourage from the Kumasi Traditional Council, led by Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang, Otumfuo Akwamuhene, has pledged to collaborate with the government to support victims of the recent fire incident at Adum.

The visit came after the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, briefed the Manhyia Traditional Council on the Adum PZ fire.

The divastating fire which occurred on Friday March, 21, 2025 destroyed over 1000 shops destroying items worth millions of Ghana Cedis

During the visit, Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang expressed sympathy for the victims and assured them of the Council’s commitment to providing support.

 The entourage inspected the affected area to determine the best way to assist in its redevelopment.

For his part, Baffour Osei Kwame, Otumfuo Kantankrakyi, emphasized the need for Kumasi to reassess its development strategies, citing congestion and accessibility issues in the Metropolis.

He noted that the Kumasi Traditional Council will support the Ashanti Regional Minister in carrying out a rezoning exercise, particularly in the affected area of the fire incident at Adum.
