Asante Youth Association (AYA), a famous youth group whose preoccupation is to ensure the development of Asanteman has expressed sadness about the passing of the late Queen of Asanteman, Nana  Konadu Yiadom III.

In a statement signed and released on Tuesday, the General Secretary of AYA, Mr Emmanuel Tweneboah Koduah, the group extended condolences to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene,  the Oyoko Clan and Asanteman.

The General Secretary noted that the group was profoundly saddened by the death of the Asante Queen.

He however pledged AYA’s support to the King towards all processes leading up to the one week , burial and final funeral rites of the late Queen.

Traits Of Late Queen:

Mr Tweneboah Koduah recalling AYA’s memory of the late Queen said, “the Queen embodied unity, selfless leadership and empathy”.

Her death, the General Secretary stated would greatly affect the King and Asanteman.

This, he stated, was because the Queen exuded calmness, peace and love beyond measure.

“The late Asantehemaa embodied empathy, love, calmness and these traits of hers were really felt in the Kingdom”, Mr Koduah stated.

Crash Victims:

Meanwhile, AYA last week expressed sympathies to the President, the immediate families of the late eight public officials including two Ministers of State that died in the recent plane crash that occurred in a community near Obuasi.

In the statement, the AYA General Secretary said the death of the eight was shocking, worrying and saddening.

AYA therefore called on the people of Ghana to keep the families of the dead in prayer.

This, they believed, could bring the needed comfort from God to the President, the affected families and the people of Ghana as a whole.

“We are saddened by the passing of the eight public officials in the unfortunate place crash and we pray that together as a nation we mourn in unity and support their immeditate families to go through this moment of loss”, the General Secretary stated.
